Today I went for a hike in the snow. It was beautiful. The sun twinkled off the snow. The trees stood out starkly against it. My feet sunk into it. For the first ten minutes that was an interesting challenge. Then it hurt. Lol. Ah well, the advantage is that one mile in the snow has to be worth at least two on even ground. And my Lowa boots held up great – plenty of traction and stability – even though they’re not snow boots.
Meanwhile, I’m mapping out my route. There are places where I really wish there were hostels. But I’ll manage! And it’s great fun to see that line of yellow highlighter creeping up the coast of Ireland.
