It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas…

There is a backpack. It is a beautiful pack. The blue highlights shimmer like the sea under the evening sky. The mesh backing allows fresh air to tickle your tired back, your back that is not so tired, because the pack is a negligible less-than-three pounds. Particularly negligible when the pack has nothing in it because you’ve only tried it on in the store, where the belt embraced your hips and the mesh caressed your back. It is a backpack that makes you long to hit the trail, any trail: to fill it up, cinch it down, and swing it over your shoulders – then step out the door.

And ‘Santa’ just happened to ask me to pick out a backpack for my Christmas present this year…
